Operating principle
The rotafilm apparatus is a horizontal vessel mounted on a frame, with a steam jacket and a conical rotor rotating inside. The phosphatide emulsion is supplied to the blades of the conical rotor Due to the centrifugal forces emulsion is spread over the inner surface of the housing and gradually moves in the form of a thin film along the housing. The steam-gas mixture resulted by evaporation is aspirated by a vacuum system, and the phosphatide concentrate with a residual moisture content of less than 2% is discharged into a storage container or for further processing.
